Psalm 125

The Lord is around His people like mountains around Jerusalem
.
Text
Explanation
This psalm may have been sung on the way to Jerusalem for the Passover feast.
1 ¶ <<A Song of degrees.>> They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
2  As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
This reminds us of the 144,000 standing on Mount Zion with the Lamb re1401b.
The mountains around Zion (location of Jerusalem) are higher. The Mout of Olives is 2723 ft or 830 m. in elevation. Zion is 2470 ft or 753 m.
3  For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.    The rod of the wicked The rod is the scepter or sign of authority. The Lord knows our endurance and does not test us above the capacity He provides 1co1013.
4 ¶ Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.
5  As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.
The final Israel will be the righteous at the end of time ga0326ff. The church will finally be pure when it is tested and those with crooked ways leave re0612figs.
