Genesis 2, Notes

The literary structure of the first creation account
At the beginning of creation week, God took the shapeless and empty earth ge0101 and, after shaping it into orderly space, filled it for happiness. On the final day, He rested in contrast to His work of the first six days. He took this rest and filled it with holiness and blessing as a memorial of His work. ge0201.
