Texts linked to often include more than one verse.

1 - How are they increased Many people had joined Absalom to take the kingdom. See beginning 2sa15, esp 15:6, 13.
1 - That rise up against me Compare the words of the Cushite announcing Absalom's defection 2sa1831.
2 - Soul Meaning David himself.
  2 - No help See ps07110.
2 - Selah This word appears 71 times in the psalms. Various meanings have been suggested. The best clue is that the Septuagint (translation into Greek) uses the Greek word for "interlude." This suggests a pause for oration or instrumental music.
  3 - For me Or "surrounding me." Compare God's promise to Abraham ge1501, de3329, 2sa2203, ps119114.
.4 ¶ I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5  I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
6  I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
4 - Cried ... and ... "I cry aloud to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy hill. [Selah]" (RSV).
  6 - Not be afraid Compare ps02304, la0322.
.7  Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
.8  Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
   7 - Salvation belogeth See re1901.
