Christ's ministry not complete at the cross See note with Ex. 25. No excuse for sin Go
.
"The conditions prevailing in society, and especially in the great cities of the nations, proclaim in thunder tones that the hour of God's judgment is come and that the end of all things earthly is at hand. We are standing on the threshold of the crisis of the ages. In quick succession the judgments of God will follow one another—fire, and flood, and earthquake, with war and bloodshed. . . . The storm of God's wrath is gathering; and those only will stand who respond to the invitations of mercy, . . . and become sanctified through obedience to the laws of the divine Ruler. The righteous alone will be hid with Christ in God till the desolation be overpast...."

About this commentary
-----------------------------------

Welcome to an adventure in exploring the Scriptures. Around 1985, I began studying the apocalyptic books of Daniel and Revelation. Around 1994, after posting to an Internet group studying various books of the Bible, I began sharing my thoughts on Revelation. From there, I developed an on-line commentary on Revelation. It has expanded and the rest of the 66 books of the Bible have been added to become what you see on this site. The Scriptures are a magnificent picture of a loving God who wants the very best for us, forever. We may know Him through the Bible.
When you are reading comments on a verse, you will want to click for other verses which explain it. Be sure to read more than one verse in the passage linked to. Often the thought requires several clarifying references.

Statement of faith — confidence in the Bible
I accept the Scriptures the way they have come to us – as the Word of God. In looking closely, I have found them to be consistent and reliable. We can understand them by studying the context and related Bible passages. Furthermore, I hold that the same Holy Spirit who inspired them has protected their messages through the centuries, and indeed will help us understand them. I accept that they were given for doctrine as Paul wrote to Timothy. I also believe that they are totally adequate as a guide to belief and practice.
I encourage you to take your own Bible and read for yourself. Also, I'm not a prophet so when I say something you have reason to question, be like the Bereans who, when they heard Paul, searched the Scriptures to discover if he was telling them the truth. At first, they didn't know he was a prophet.
The King James Version is used because it is widely accepted and in the public domain. It is also a good translation although for some passages, other versions have better represented the manuscripts. As needed, we look at word meanings from the original languages.

What we do not supply
The word of God is precious and far beyond human wisdom (Isa. 55:8; Prov. 3:5). But He has promised the Holy Spirit to help us understand (John 16:13). So, whenever you open the sacred word, also open your heart to God in prayer, allowing the words of this commentary to direct your thoughts to the Scriptures and to the One they tell us about.

Your prayers and financial support are appreciated
We realize that it is often difficult to send donations from overseas.

Two ways to use the material on this website
The program is for use in two ways:
To look up on a particular verse or passage. There the person can read comments and, when interested for a broader understanding, click to follow a link. The back button should bring you back through several pages. If you don't know where the verse is found, use a concordance where key words will lead you to it.
For a broader view look at the comments in the right column. The Bible text is at the left. For personal study, I suggest you start at the beginning of a chapter or book. Read your own Bible, the Bible as quoted on this site, and my comments.
I encourage you to copy from the site with as few restrictions as possible. See conditions for use below.

Weekly notes E-mail list  - To join the list, send email to tedw @ andrews.edu (delete the blanks around the @ sign in the address.) We will send comments by e-mail. These are generally sent out every few weeks. They focus on a topic. Links are usually included and direct you to the commentary page where it is discussed more. You will rarely, if ever, get other mail from us unless you write. (The list began around 1995).

Bible questions
If you are interested in understanding a certain verse or just have heard something you would explained, write to the e-mail address tedw @ andrews.edu, but remove the space after the @ sign. (this protects from software designed to create spam lists from websites). Or see "Topics" near the top of this page.

Questions about living the Christian life, facing problems, etc.
I have invited Marvin Krause to help you. He is a veteran Christian and can suggest ways to find solutions to personal problems. To reach him, enter theword@dslextreme.com.

Requesting a free offer for USA addresses
Write to tedw @andrews.edu except remove the space before the @ sign. Explain your interests. We will send the book and may include the CD. Your prayers and financial contribution are appreciated but if money is a problem, ask anyway. Usually I send more than the book offered. For example, we have a book on the end times and one on the life of Christ. Remember to give us your postal address and let us know if you can play CDs, cassette tapes, or DVDs in case we have some to send..
We do not share your contact or other information. We have an email list but add your name only if you ask.

Revelation print commentary 336 pages. The official price of $18 is reasonable but if this is difficult just send what you can or just ask for a fee copy.

You may send by personal check on a US bank (be sure you have funds in your account) or use Western Union. Thank you very much.

Requesting a free offer for addresses outside the USA
Books can be shared with others. Use the "andrews.edu" e-mail address above following instructions. Because Bibles are available all over the world at less expense than mailing from here, we do not generally send them. Remember to give us your postal address. If you send money by Western Union that will help. Now instead of a fat package, we can send an envelope with some of the most important Bible information. The most economical mail as of 2008 is an International Priority Mail envelope. We trust the that Lord will provide.

Please show this commentary as your source.

CD and print commentaries
Some have asked for a print copy of the commentary. I have completed work on one for Revelation. It is now (4/08) available. As explained above, we have now published the work on a CD. The advantages of having the whole commentary accessible off line are being able to use it without being connected to the Internet and instant linking to supporting texts. Also, if the site closes, you have your copy. Your browser is the engine that runs the commentary. It should activate automatically.
We have added maps and a good Bible concordance with lexicons (dictionaries for the Greek and Hebrew words). In all, I expect you will find the CD commentary helpful. The on-line commentary contains much more information. The CD was recorded in October 2003. The more important comments are on it.
For copies of the work, we suggest a donation. We have reduced the list price to $10 but send whatever you wish or request a free copy. ISBN is 0-930192-40-0.
Send direct orders to: hoofprint@yahoo.com. Sorry we aren't set up for credit cards. Click for the Gazelle site below. It has buttons for ordering with PayPal. Or just write to us with your request. If you can send a donation, personal US$ checks are fine.. We can usually mail the CD with only a light mailer for two ounces postage. If you are unsure of the value of the CD commentary, we'll mail it and you can send a donation if you like it. No need to return it. It has less information that is on the website because it was prepared in 2003.
The print version commentary is available on Revelation. See above.
Thank you for your prayers and contributions.
.
Updates for the CD
Go to the online commentary here on the Internet. The current CD is version 2.1. We may be able to burn a CD of the current commentary for you. Your donation to the project is much appreciated. We have no source of funding except our own pockets. God blesses us.

This site has over 1600 html pages (files) and 40,000 links mostly for navigation within the site.

For images from Justinen Creative Group or GoodSalt (same organization), contact them through their website, www.goodsalt.com. Most black and white images were taken from public domain sources. I have her permission to use her work in creating my pages, especially backgrounds, thus you should be clear in copying whole pages but not individual images (including backgrounds) to be used otherwise. I have used images (color photos and .gifs) from Corel Corporation (Canada) for which you would also need permission if copied individually.
